Improver 1 is for swimmers who can confidently swim between 5 and 15 metres unaided and are ready to refine their technique and build endurance.

At this stage, swimmers will be working on Grade 3 and 4 skills. This includes improving stroke technique on front crawl and backstroke, learning basic breaststroke kicks, and starting to coordinate breathing with movement. We also introduce more structured practice of floating, gliding, and treading water, helping swimmers become more efficient and confident in the pool.

Improver 1 bridges the gap between beginner and more advanced swimming, helping swimmers develop consistency, stamina, and skill across multiple strokes.
