Beginner 1 is for swimmers who are starting to swim short distances without support – typically up to 5 metres unaided. These children have moved beyond the early confidence-building stages and are ready to develop their technique and stamina.

Swimmers in this group will be working on STAnley Seal 5 and 6, focusing on improving body position, introducing breathing techniques, and developing stronger arm and leg actions. They'll also begin to swim with more purpose and control, using skills that will help them progress to longer distances.
